JIOS Aerogel (JIOS) has reached a significant double milestone by securing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification for its Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System covering its Singapore operations. In a ceremony conducted by international certification body TÜV SÜD, JIOS was formally awarded the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates for its Singapore Innovation Centre and Headquarters.
ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and the certification provides a framework for JIOS to continually improve its environmental performance. It proves the company’s dedication to implementing effective policies, reducing environmental impact, and maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
ISO 45001 is the international standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&S MS). It provides a structured system to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement controls to prevent injury and ill health. It ensures JIOS drives continual improvement through regular audits, incident investigations, and management reviews.
“This certification reflects the collective efforts of our employees in embedding sustainability and health and safety into our work culture and daily operations,” said Mr James Yen, Senior Quality Manager. Mr Yen further noted that the company underwent an intensive process of staff training and practice enhancement to meet these benchmarks. “We will continue investing in safe operations and responsible environmental performance as we scale,” he added. “These certifications ensure that our growth is both sustainable and safe”.
With the addition of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 to its existing ISO 9001 certification, JIOS now maintains a comprehensive suite of Integrated Management Systems (IMS). This “triple certification” ensures JIOS is strongly positioned to deliver on the stringent requirements of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) within the automotive and energy storage sectors.
